Privacy Policy: PowerShaper Monitor

This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit or subscribe to the PowerShaper Monitor service, located at https://powershaper.io and its subdomains (the “Site”).

PowerShaper Monitor is a service provided by the Society for the Reduction of Carbon Ltd, trading as Carbon Co-op (the “Organisation”).

The Society for the Reduction of Carbon Ltd (trading as Carbon Co-op) is a registered society under the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014 (Registration Number 31342R). You can contact us using either post, email, or phone using the details provided at the bottom of this page.

Our Data Protection Register number is ZA520021. We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer as we have determined that we are not required to do so. Carbon Co-op is a non-profit membership organisation and was created to support its members in making substantial reductions in their household Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions and to carry on any trade, industry or business for the benefit of the community which promotes and supports the development of carbon reduction measures, focusing on but not limited to energy demand reduction and renewable energy supply. All profits are reinvested in the organisation.

Personal information we collect

As a visitor of the site

We do not collect any personal information relating to your use of the Site. For analytic purposes we use the privacy-focussed Plausible service which allows us to track the usage of the website without collecting any personal data or personally identifiable information.

As a customer of the PowerShaper Monitor Service

When you subscribe to the service or attempt to subscribe to the service through the Site, we collect certain information from you, including your name, postcode, email address and electricity supply number (MPAN).

We refer to this information as “Subscription Information”.

This information is collected in order to provide you with the PowerShaper Monitor Service under contract. We retain this information for a period of up to 3 years after the conclusion of our contractual relationship with you.

How do we use your personal information?

We use the Subscription Information that we collect generally to provide access to your smart meter data and the PowerShaper Monitor service (including providing login credentials). Additionally, we use this Subscription Information to:

Sharing your personal information

We share your Personal Information with third parties only to provide the services as described above. We will not share your details with other companies for their marketing purposes.

Your electricity supply number and email address is the only personal information which we will share with Hildebrand, our smart meter data intermediary, solely for the purpose of obtaining access to your consumption data. Upon sign-up you will be directed to the Hildebrand portal where you can see the full terms and conditions for their service.

Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, and lawful requests for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

Accessing personal information

You have the right to access personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact us through the contact details provided below.

We note that we are processing your information in order to fulfill contracts we might have with you (for example subscribing to the PowerShaper Monitor service through the Site), or otherwise to pursue our legitimate business interests listed above.

Data retention

When you make a subscription through the Site, we will maintain your Subscription Information for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information.This does not include information which we are required to retain as part of our contractual obligations.

Changes

We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons.
